Nadine was first elected to the Board of Commission in November, 2004. As your Commissioner, Nadine is using her energy and experience to work for the residents of Kent County. As one of the few female members of the Board, Nadine also brings a woman's perspective to the Board.

Since she was elected, Commissioner Klein has been an active member of the Board, who has gained the trust and respect of her fellow Commissioners. She was appointed the Vice-Chair of the Legislative and Human Resources Committee (one of the Board's two standing committees). Commissioner Klein currently serves as chair of the Network 180 Board (Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse), the Board of Publics Works and the John Ball Zoo Advisory Board.

During her first year on the Board, Commissioner Klein served on the interview subcommittee that reviewed citizen applications for appointment to the Commission's various Boards and Committees. Commissioner Klein also served on the Standing Rules subcommittee, which reviewed the Board's standing rules; and she was the chair of the eminent domain subcommittee which was established to protect our citizen's private property rights after the US Supreme Court made a controversial decision giving government more power to take a person's private property.

In addition to her work as a Commissioner, Nadine also works part-time as an attorney for Brinks & Associates. She has been a practicing law in Kent County since August, 1989.
